About Boulevard251

Welcome to Boulevard251 Hotel, where hospitality meets a passion for creating extraordinary guest experiences. Our journey began with the vision of giving a relaxing experience and providing a haven of sophistication for travelers seeking the finer things in life.

Why our services are the top choice

Boulevard is a small, secure and tranquil community with a few permanent residents, and a choice of 17 stylish and individually designed self catering apartments and studios to rent for visitors to Iquitos – The gateway to the Amazon rainforest.

The English owner, a keen conservationalist, retained the garden area where guests can relax and maybe catch a glimpse of the wildlife who have made their home here. These include owls and other tropical bird species, also Rosito our friendly rescued tortoise who loves humans. Iguanas and parrots are also occasional visitors when our fruit trees are in season. Find out more about the fascinating history of number 251 Malecon Maldonado at “more info”.

Our residents and guests can meet and enjoy the river views -and the antics of the floating houses below – from our spacious “Panteleon” residents lounge. After qualifying in construction and design at Northumbria University in England, the lodge was acquired by the present owner and converted into apartments. A few years later he constructed more luxury apartments directly on the river bank – the only rooms with such views for rent in Iquitos.

Boulevard251: History

1880

Acquisition

The main lodge was bought during the region’s rubber boom of 1880 – 1914, by another Englishman for a mere £190. After World War II it became the sanctuary of a Nazi war criminal.
1975
In 1975 the extensive balcony was used to film the brothel scenes from the award winning film “Panteleon y Los Visitadores” from the comedic novel based on true facts, by Mario Vargas Llosa, the distinguished author and politician who, in 1971, was narrowly defeated in his bid to become Peru’s president.
2010
In 2010 he received the Nobel Prize for literature. Our residents and guests can meet and enjoy the river views -and the antics of the floating houses below – from our spacious “Panteleon” residents lounge. After qualifying in construction and design at Northumbria University in England, the lodge was acquired by the present owner and converted into apartments.
2012
A few years later he constructed more luxury apartments directly on the river bank – the only rooms with such views for rent in Iquitos.
